Testimonials

When I contacted Brian, the timing was right. I was about to make a career change and would soon be giving up my sixty-hour workweeks and twenty-four hour calls as a hospital anesthesiologist. However, a question loomed. What would I do with my leisure time when the activities that I loved were so painful to engage in?

Brian is a skillful body worker and a sensitive teacher. I cannot have been an especially easy client. After all, I had become quite entrenched in my own role as healer and teacher in the world of conventional medicine. The sessions were challenging for me on several levels. However, I looked forward to each of them.

It has been four months since I completed the ten sessions with Brian. The subtle but profound transformative process that began with the very first session, continued well beyond the final session. In fact, it has only been over the past several weeks that I have felt as if my progress with Brian has become fully consolidated.

At this point I sense a surprising suppleness in my body and measurably increased range of motion. I engage in regular, extreme physical activity with very little discomfort. I am very grateful to Brian. He is not simply a body worker. He has been more like a coach. His involvement with my progress did not end with the ten sessions. We have remained in contact and he has continued to assist, and be interested in, my progress.

SI was foreign to me but all I knew was my lower back had been so...tired lately. I was teaching up to fourteen yoga classes a week and dog walking all over the city every afternoon, and riding a bike as my main form of transportation. A few times I got stuck in bed resting my aching back as it was the only temporary cure. I knew I needed something special.

Brian was so kind and giving. He made me feel very comfortable and I came to fully trust him through all ten sessions and then some. As a movement teacher I loved the idea that I could practice what Brian was teaching me. Standing and walking on my own feet became a more enjoyable experience, I felt more aligned and balanced and more at peace in my own body.

I told Brian that I came to him like a wrinkled corn flake he ironed me out! He is knowledgeable and professional but still warm and lighthearted. I have passed out his card many times to students and friends!

Even though SI seems to put the "work" in bodywork, I still looked forward to our sessions. I knew how good I would feel afterwards. The effects are immediate!

I am a college student and suffer from aches and pains from my high school cross country days. I had been to several doctors, physical therapists and massage therapists, but my body pain still persisted. I saw Brian's flier which spoke of changing my body's misalignment and figured I had nothing to lose.

I have been very satisfied with the body work I have received. My back pain has significantly decreased and my body truly has changed. I am now one inch taller and have much more movement in areas that had been locked up for years. Brian is a great rolfer and a great friend.

As a dancer, I work with my body on a daily basis. I am wary of seemingly quick-fix routes to body wellness and manual therapists who mysteriously profess intimate knowledge of how my body works. Because I had read some eloquent and convincing literature on the philosophy of rolfing, my skepticism was tabled and I let my curiosity get the best of me.

Discovering Brian let me get the best of my curiosity, as well. Each of my sessions with Brian was part of a symbiotic learning process; he encouraged me to learn as much as I could about my moving body and I felt that he was actively involved in learning more about the body through his experience with my particular body. I always left his studio feeling empowered within my body and pushed to learn more about it, do more with it, take more care of it.

Rolfing, for me, ignited a charge within me to really engage fully in my physical life; Brian was the conduit of that charge. What a spark!

When I met Brian, it had been just under seven years after my car accident. While researching Rolfing/Structural Integration, I was fortunate enough to come across his web site.

He brought tears to my eyes after the first time I spoke with him. Before knowing anything about me, or anything about my physical pain, the first thing Brian said to me was Before we begin our conversation, I would first like to tell you how sorry I am that you are in so much pain. In 7 years, not one person had said that to me, let alone someone I was just speaking to for the first time.

There were a number of doctors, chiropractors, and therapists that I had seen throughout the years for my pain, and none of them have had the compassion, understanding, empathy, and desire to help others the way that Brian does.

My sessions with Brian are still in the beginning stages, and I have already felt so many changes in my body and in my mind that no one else has been able to provide for me. Every week, I am reassured that I am finally getting what I have looked for.

Not only is Brian remarkable at helping others through his bodywork, hes the type of person that will benefit your life just by being in it.
