FLOATING BONES AND BREATH

Furthering the idea that what we are trying to create is a body where the bones float in a sea of tissue, called the myofascial system.  As that fluidity becomes more possible through our work the role of the breath moves to an entirely different level.  The breath rocks the bones and the bones are stabilized within the fluid body.  This body has great resiliency and possibility for adaptation to whatever movement is required.  This body is in a much different mental/emotional state than the one that is constantly avoiding pain, adjusting for structural imbalances, injury and just inappropriate patterns, either learned or created.  In this body, the breath can take on a more vital role in its relationship with all the systems of the body; the process is simply a matter of getting that body upright and relating the body's major segments to one another.  Gravity quite automatically does the rest.
